Pastors Christopher and Briana Zehner are the founding pastors of River Church of Kansas City and are passionate about seeing people encounter Jesus, discover their God-given purpose, and walk in the fullness of all God has called them to be. Their hearts beat for reaching the lost, raising up disciples, and building a church where the presence of God is welcomed, worship is authentic, the Word is preached without compromise, and lives are transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Pastor Chris knew from an early age that God had called him into ministry, receiving that call at just five years old. During his college years, he experienced a radical encounter with the presence of God that forever changed the trajectory of his life, igniting a deep passion for revival, soul-winning, and the preaching of the Gospel.

Together, Pastor Chris and Briana are graduates of The River University in Tampa, Florida, founded by Pastor Rodney Howard-Browne through Revival Ministries International, where they earned Bachelor’s degrees in Theology and Ministry. Following their graduation in 2019, they immediately stepped into full-time ministry, faithfully serving the call God had placed on their lives.

As pastors of a River Church plant, they carry the same passion for revival, soul-winning, and raising up disciples who will impact their communities and the nations with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Today, they are committed to advancing the Kingdom of God throughout Kansas City and beyond by equipping believers, strengthening families, and cultivating a church where people can encounter God’s presence, discover their calling, and be empowered to fulfill God’s purpose for their lives.
